Nano 2009: Chaptor 2: Day 6

John watched the guard close the door wondering what he was doing here. Well first things first, he thought. Might as well get started on finding a way out of here. He turned around. Rogalia’s mouth met his in a soft sensual kiss, as she embraced him tenderly.

John allowed himself to enjoy the kiss. It had been a while since he had been this close to another person, physically or emotionally. A moment later reality set in. He tried to back away, but the wall was in the way. There was just enough room to put a couple of inches between their lips, but not enough to fully break her embrace.

“What are you doing?” he asked. He could still feel her warm body against his. He wanted desperately to ignore his mind and just go with it, but they had more important things to do.

“You humans are so strange, even though you look exactly like us. Why do you both love and hate sex at the same time? Sex is a major part of every aspect of your society, yet prostitution is illegal. I don’t get it,” she said. “Lets have some fun.”

She kissed him again, but this time he was more prepared for it. Frustrated she took a step back. “You are one of the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever known, and I would love to…get closer to you,” John said “But we need to concentrate on finding a way out of here. People are counting on us.”

“That will need to wait. I need to have sex,” she said. She stepped forward to kiss him again.

“Wait. I would love to have sex with you, but we really should work on getting out of here. How about we make a date for when we get back to earth,” he said.

Rogalia sighed. “Let me try this again. All Velarians need to have sex every few days. Otherwise we get sick. We seem to be very different than humans in this regard. Now, will you please have sex with me,” she said as she posed for him with her hands behind her back. She gave him a smile. It was the sexiest look anyone had ever given to John.

“Ok, but shouldn’t we work first? I we only have a limited amount of time right?” he said, although his will power was getting weaker. She did have some good arguments!

“I’ll be able to think better afterwards,” she said. I have to admit, John thought, that does make sense. She stepped forward and kissed him again. This time he didn’t resist….

Five minutes later she rolled over with a slight disappointment in her face that John was oblivious to. “Wow, even for a human that was, um…good. I mean…nevermind,” she said.

Embarrassed John said, “We should start working now. There is a lot I need you to tell me.”

“Not just yet. I’m not done,” she said and kissed him softly on the shoulder…

Ten minutes after that. “Ok, I give up!” Rogalia said. “I guess that will be good enough for tonight. By the way, how good is that Myra girl in bed. She seemed like she might be pretty good. I mean for a human of course,” she sighed. “I miss Velaria.”

Annoyed John decided to just start with working out the escape plan, “You can read their language can’t you?”

“Yes. Why?” she responded.

“When I first arrived, I saw them some symbols on the bridge consoles. I need you to tell me what they mean,” he said. It was as good of a place to start as any.

They worked together to try and figure out what each symbol meant. She did her best to interpret them, but it was difficult going. She didn’t recognize many of the symbols until John drew them with his finger against the wall several times.

Even then, the concept they were supposed to convey didn’t always match the word Rogalia used to describe them. For example, she interpreted “inclination” as “movement” at first. It took a while and a few more tries for John to figure out what she meant.

Plus there was the fact that Rogalia didn’t put her clothes back on. It was very distracting to John, partially because he felt uncomfortably overdressed, but mostly because her breasts were really nice.

When they were done, John laid back down and closed his eyes. He shut out the entire world and fell deep into thought.

“Are you going to sleep,” Rogalia interrupted him. “Cause I would rather have sex again.”

“I’m trying to think,” he said.

“Oh,” she responded and fell silent. It didn’t last long. “Are you sure you wouldn’t rather talk it through…or have sex?”

“Can you be quite for a few minutes and give me time to think?” he said.

“I tried that once. It didn’t work out,” she said with a smile. John was pretty sure she was kidding, but then again she is a strange alien, so who knows?

They were interrupted by a knock on the door. “Oh. That means they are going to take you back soon.”

“You should get dressed then,” he said.

“They hate it when I go around nude. They aren’t allowed to have sex with me,” she said. “It can be dangerous for them. I mean sex in general, not just with me.”

“Really? Why is that?” John asked.

“Well apparently when Biaz men have sex, it makes them very sick and is almost always fatal,” she said. “It’s really sad. I would definitely rather die then not have sex. Then again when their women have sex, it always results in pregnancy with multiple children. So that’s even worse.”

John wanted to ask more questions, but the door opened. The soldier stepped in and saw Rogalia’s naked body. She gave him a seductive smile. The soldier was not pleased, but took it out on John instead. He got thrown out of the room and shoved down the corridor.

When they reached the door to the cell, the solider opened it and threw John in with such force it knocked him to the ground. John looked up. Everyone was staring at him. He looked through the faces until he found the one he was looking for.

He walked up to Jennifer, but before he could speak she interrupted him. “Don’t tell Michael about Rogalia’s, um, needs,” she said.

“Why?” he replied.

“Because he might refuse to go to her, and we need him to go to her. He is our ticket out of this room,” she said. She looked him directly in the eye as she spoke.

“Ok. Well I might have figured out a way to get back to Earth, although your not going to like it,” he said.

“Well we can go with your plan,” she said, “or we can go with Joe’s plan of attacking heavily armed professional soldiers with out bare hands, or we can go with Michael’s plan of waiting for divine intervention to get us out of this room to the shuttle bay and to fly a space craft whose manual is in another language, or, my personal favorite, Charles’ plan of waiting for the UN to negotiate our release.” She put her hands on her hips. “I think I’m going to love your plan.”

“We crash the ship,” he said.

“Nevermind, I love Joe’s plan,” she said. “What do you mean crash the ship?”

“Well,” he began, “it appears many of the maneuvers this ship can do are automated, at least the maneuver I saw them do was. It makes sense that de-orbiting the spacecraft would be in there somewhere.”

“Well wouldn’t that land the craft, and not crash it?” she asked.

“No,” he said. “Landing is different the just a de-orbit. De-orbiting is pretty straightforward, although can have some tricky math to it. Landing has more variables that are harder for a computer to calculate, like where you want to land? What kind of terrain is it? And all that kind of stuff. I’ll do my best to land as safely as I can, but realistically, there is no way.”

“Ok. How dangerous will it be?” she asked.

“I honestly don’t know. It depends on how good their inertial dampeners are,” he said. He thought about mentioning the possibility of the ship not having dampeners, which would mean certain death. He decided not to scare her anymore. She looked as though she might die of a heart attack at any moment already.
